Stratford - House Mill and Clock Mill. Mills were recorded in this area in the Domesday Book and mills on this site were in the possession of the Abbey of Stratford Langthorne until the Dissolution.
The Clock Mill at Three Mills with its two kilns. The Mill building was erected in1817 but the clock tower dates from 1753. It is said to contain the original clock with a bell founded in 1750.
The south side of the Victoria Dock was once lined with mills and silos most of which have been demolished in Dockland redevelopment. (there is one silo remaining on the site) This photo taken in 1987.
