Opening of King George V docks, 1921.

This was the last dock to be built in Silvertown, and was capable of handling ships of 35,000 tons. (The Mauretania berthed here in 1935). The Royal Yacht Britannia is entering under the bascule bridge for the opening ceremony in 1921.

This photo shows how the Romford Road used to be like in the 1930s Looking towards Stratford. The tiled and leaded glass windowed workmans hall and club at the corner of 27 Romford Road and Litchfield Avenue is on the right.
