This humerous little sketch, measuring only 2½" x 3¼" ( 1.6 x 8cms), is probably a self-caricature by Charles Ward a local printer and artistic compositor who had a business in Woodgrange Road, Forest Gate. It is among his typographcal specimen catalogue.
