Stratford Works was "home" to 466 drivers and 227 driver- assistants who operated passenger and freight services throughout the south east of England.
Plaistow had a steam engine depot.
The most re-built station on the line.
This huge building was able to hold 40 large engines and some light boilers for repair.
The Polygon was an engine shed at Stratford.
The London & North Eastern Railway Goods Depot stood at the end of Knights Road, West Silvertown.
