Patrick O'Keeffe served as a private in the 1st battalion Highland Light Infantry (City of Glasgow Regiment).

Patrick O'Keeffe was the son of John and Annie O'Keeffe of 45 Saville Road, Silvertown, London.

He died on Sunday, 13th August 1944, aged 28.  Remembered with honour, he is buried in the Commonwealth War Grave Commission's Cemetery at Banneville-La-Campangne, Calvados, France.

This photograph was taken at a short commemorative event held at Brick Lane Music Hall, Silvertown, on 25th October 2010 following the inscription of his name on the memorial. The event was attended by members of the family, local dignitaries and representatives of the military. The attached photograph of the gravestone was taken by the family when visiting the grave in August 2004 on the 60th anniversary of his death.  Mr O'Keeffe's name was inscribed on the war memorial at Brick Lane Music Hall in September, 2010. This was followed by a short commemorative ceremony on 25th October, 2010.
