My grandfather (George Eley - also know as Fred) lived @ 111 Grosvenor Road, Forest Gate from 1944 to about 1976.
He appears to have been a rather private man, although I know he re-married in the 1950's to a local woman - Maud Rudd (nee Johnston).

I have been told by another source that both he and Maud were well known psychic/spiritual healers in the 1950's & 60's, not just locally but apparently nationwide, although have yet to track down anything that backs this up.

I have attached a photo taken in the 50's, just in case it rings any bells .....

i know it's a long shot, but any help would be appreciated.

Maggs

I know absolutely nothing about Psychic healers but the Manor Park Spiritualist Church which is situated on the corner Shrewsbury Road and Strone Road Forest Gate may know of your grandfather or possibly be able to point you in the right direction for information.

I was aware of that particular church from living in Strone Road and it appears to be reasonably local to Grosvenor Road although there may have been another church in the Plaistow area

There was a Spiritualist Church in Cumberland Road, Plaistow. I made mention of it in a previous post some time ago.
