Become a Newham Tourism Ambassador.

Available to all Newham residents and free of charge this new initiative comprises a two week course beginning 8th September 2008 at The Hub, Canning Town.

Candidates will be selected by ‘Workplace’ the London Borough of Newham’s employment opportunities organisation. You do not have to be looking for employment to take advantage of this offer.
The course is designed to provide the skills of presentation and the delivery of tourist information. Ideal for residents looking to improve their employment opportunities in the local tourism, hospitality and visitor information sectors.  Also for residents who have local knowledge and would like to promote Newham.
   
This could be your first step to becoming a tourist guide, gaining employment in the growing local visitor and hospitality sector and gaining the skills to help promote Newham as a visitor destination.

Syllabus content.
•   Visits to local points of interest including the Olympic Park Site.
•   Walks by local experienced guides.
•   Talks by experts on the history, infrastructure and regeneration plans for the Borough.
•   Presentation skills talk by members of   the Theatre Royal Stratford East.
•   Working as a team and individually to create your own visitor information lecture.
