It is about Newham food inspectors tonight.

Just thought people might recognize some of the old places.  Wink

I had a quick skim through this earlier today and one place was an Indian restaurant at the Maryland end of Leytonstone Rd.

They were looking into reports of restaurants having people actually living in the kitchens. There was one where it was quite obvious someone was living in basically a broom cupboard behind the kitchen -  but because they had no hard proof, the inspectors couldn't do anything. There was a matress propped up against the wall and even a wardrobe & set of drawers - as well as toothpaste & toothbrush -  The owners claimed one of their staff got divorced and was just storing their belongings.

The other stuff was pretty much what you see on Gordon Ramsay's kitchen nightmares - dirty kitchens and rotten food in fridges etc.
